Kelly Sandhu
Clinical Research Coordinator
With a strong passion for research, Kelly has over ten years of experience in academic and clinical research across Europe and Canada. She has managed the full cycle of national and international clinical trials and academic research; from the start up of studies (reviewing literature, developing study protocols and SOPs, grant facilitation, obtaining ethical approval, budget negotiations) to the patient’s journey in research (screening, approaching and recruiting participants, data collection). Kelly also has experience managing the end of the study cycle (analysing data, study close out) as well as dissemination and knowledge translation of findings (conference presentations and publishing academic papers).
She was awarded the Edward Jenner Leadership Award from the National Health Service in the UK at Nottingham Children’s Hospital. This has contributed to her leadership approach when training and mentoring research staff, students, and volunteers as well as leading on initiatives to integrate research into clinical practice in institutions across Canada, and advocating for patient involvement in research.
