Fahmida Homayra

Ms. Fahmida Homayra joined Centre for Cardiovascular Innovation in March 2024. Her responsibilities include but not limited to reviewing research protocols and care report forms, writing and peer reviewing statistical analysis plans, applying advanced methodology to clinical research and providing statistical advice for grant applications, conference presentations and publications.

She received her M.Sc. in Statistics from University of New Brunswick. With over 12 years of professional experience as a statistician, she has collaborated extensively with government bodies such as Health Canada, Environment Canada, BC Ministry of Health, BC Ministry of Mental Health and Addiction, as well as non-profit research organizations including the Medical Council of Canada, BCCSU, BCCDC. Previously, in her role as a statistician at Providence Health Care, she worked closely with provincial health authorities in BC including the First Nations Health Authority on multiple projects involving provincial surveillance for substance use disorder, perinatal substance use care, and concurrent mental health and substance use disorder.  She has co-authored over 25 published/submitted papers in peer-reviewed journals including Epidemiology, BMJ, Pediatrics, and JAMA and has contributed to over 30 conference proceedings.
