Ricky Turgeon, BSc(Pharm), ACPR, PharmD

- Dr. Turgeon is an Assistant Professor at the University of British Columbia Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in the PHARM-HF Clinic at St. Paul’s Hospital, Associate Member with the UBC Department of Medicine (Division of Cardiology), and a Scientist at the Centre for Health Evaluation and Outcome Sciences (CHÉOS).
- He received his BSc(Pharm) from the Dalhousie University College of Pharmacy, Accredited Canadian Pharmacy Residency (ACPR) from the Lower Mainland Pharmacy Services Residency -Program, and his Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at UBC before embarking on a two-year post-doctoral fellowship cardiovascular pharmacotherapeutics at the University of Alberta Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry (Division of Cardiology).
- His research focuses on evaluating the effectiveness of cardiovascular pharmacotherapy and safety of medications in people with cardiovascular disease using a variety of methodologies, including meta-analyses of randomized controlled trials and high-quality observational studies. Specific topics of interest include heart failure pharmacotherapy, antithrombotic agents, and lipid-lowering therapies. He is also passionate about patient-centered care, and developing and evaluating tools such as decision aids to facilitate shared decision-making.
